Golfing news: Golf Costa Brava

Once again we are offering a golfing tour of South Africa for summer 2007.

In 2006 we took a group of some 30 keen golfers to some of South Africa's finest golf courses (Fancourt Golf Estate and Royal Cape Golf Course to name a few), as well as sites such as Victoria Falls, Kruger National Park and the Addo Elephant Park. In 2007 we are offering a similar tour.

30/06/2005-Golf on the Costa Brava continues to grow steadily with the opening in May 2005 of a further nine holes at the PGA de Catalunya. By the end of the year the PGA Catalunya will have 36 holes consisting of the established championship course and also an easier but also spectacular second course.

Much work has been put into this course and these two photos show that it is in superb condition. By early 2006 the course will also offer a four star hotel with all facilities.

Golf on the Costa Brava will also be enhanced in 2006 by the opening of a four star hotel at the Emporda Golf Club. Emporda now has 36 established holes consisting of the Forest course and the Dunes course, the only links course in Catalonia.

Both the PGA de Catalunya and Emporda Golf Clubs will again this year be hosting the European Tour Qualifying School, a tribute to the quality of golf courses on the Costa Brava.

The Golf d’Aro, Mas Nou club has recently been taken over and recently inaugurated its new clubhouse with bar, restaurant, lounge and changing room facilities which can only enhance this beautiful course which already has an excellent and established golf school with all modern facilities.

Many people are now looking for something different when planning their golf holidays to the Costa Brava and Barcelona Golf is now offering many diverse locations to cater for this demand. We now offer self catering masias (country houses) for groups of 8 to 20 people close to or overlooking the Costa Brava Golf courses. These are ideal for golf societies, business groups and also groups of friends. Catering can also be provided in many of these Masias.
