Costa Dorada
This is probably one of the most elegantly restored masias/villas in Catalonia. It has been luxuriously decorated with furniture from various parts of the globe and no stone has been left unturned to accomplish what has turned out to be a superb destination for a corporate group or gathering of friends and family.
The masia/farmhouse lies 10 minutes inland from the ever popular and trendy resort of Sitges, 30 minutes from Barcelona and is on the airport side of the city.
The renovation of this majestic has been carried out with the utmost care and attention creating an atmosphere of charm and elegance which has been obtained by retaining the original historical ambience of this beautiful masia (Catalan manor house) but combining it with some of today’s modern comforts. The character of the original building has now been enhanced by the careful restoration work and a stay here will leave an everlasting memory even in the minds of the least impressionable amongst us.
Set high on a hillside on the border of the Penedes wine region, the masia is surrounded by the Garraf National Park and offers superb sea or mountain views from every room or terrace. This Catalan masia has more than 300 acres of private grounds with vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees, offering total relaxation and tranquillity but being close enough to enjoy the delights of the Catalan capital Barcelona and the fashionable resort of Sitges.
Masia Setting
With a living area of over 1200 square metres and over 300 acres of private grounds the masia allows you as much space and privacy as you like. The grounds are also sprinkled with 14 kilometres of private tracks where you will find large areas of vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees.
The masia is entered through large elegant gates and via a long driveway which sweeps up to the large tiled courtyard with palm and citrus trees and Moroccan lounge which provides welcoming shade in the heat of the midday sun. From the terrace and overlooking the large pool, 200 metres above sea level there are spectacular views down the valley towards the coast and the resorts of Sitges and Vilanova i La Geltru.
There is easy access to the closest town, San Pere De Ribes, numerous good local restaurants and vineyards, which include the famous Penedes producers Torres, Freixenet and Cordorniu, a great draw for the wine tasters amongst us.
A direct access to the Garraf national park offers plenty of scope for hiking and mountain biking.
This Catalan country home offers a great base to enjoy some superb golfing in the area with the closest course being the Sitges Terramar Club. However the area is also home to superb and highly rated courses such as Masia Bach, Costa Dorada, Reus Aiguesverds, the championship course of Bonmont and Real Club del Prat. A little further a field but well worth the day out is the PGA de Catalunya which is ranked at Nº10 in Europe and has been host to the Spanish Open.
45 minutes to the south stands the World Heritage Centre of Tarragona, a superb example of a Roman architecture and well worth a visit as is the much acclaimed Universal Mediterranea (Port Aventura) theme park for those lighter hearted moments.

History
The masia, villa enjoys huge grounds whose grapes are used for Freixenet, Cordorniu and other local cavas. Amongst the 14 kilometres of private tracks you will also find pear, olive, cherry, walnut and almond trees in addition to many naturally growing herbs and vegetables ( asparagus, rosemary and mushrooms).
The house, a protected building and fortified masia, was built before 1592 and was extended in 1800. It has been and continues to be a significant landmark in the Garraf area and was formerly used for winemaking and farming. Though totally renovated and adapted to a high standard of modern comfort, the original details have been preserved, in particular the wine presses and bodega. The windows have been enlarged to allow in more natural light. Balconies and terraces have been added.
