The Ryder Cup 2025<\/a> was an incredible event to watch. A tournament with many highlights, some controversy due to the audience\u2019s behaviour, and of course the European victory. While we are still enjoying the memories, we are already looking to the future. Not at 2027 or 2029, although we think they will be exciting years for the Ryder Cup as well. Our eyes are set on 2031. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this article, we want to\u00a0recap\u00a0the Ryder Cup 2025\u00a0and\u00a0take a look\u00a0at the highlights of the tournament, before we discuss the\u00a0Ryder Cup 2031<\/a>,\u00a0which will take place at\u00a0Camiral\u00a0Golf & Wellness, a truly\u00a0spectacular course\u00a0in beautiful Catalonia, Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a02025\u00a0Ryder Cup took\u00a0place\u00a0on the\u00a0Bethpage Black Course<\/a>,\u00a0located\u00a0in Farmingdale,\u00a0New\u00a0York.\u00a0The event\u00a0ran\u00a0from September 26th<\/sup>\u00a0to September 28th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Europe beat USA by a score of 15 to 13 and it was a close tournament. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Europe had a commanding lead after the first two days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first day, Friday the 26th<\/sup> of September came to an end with Europe being ahead by 5.5 points to 2.5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday the 27th<\/sup> of September ended in a similar manner, with Europe scoring 6 points that day, and USA scoring 2 points.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Going into the final day, the total score was 11.5 to 4.5 with Europe in the lead \u2013 the largest European lead in history. However, the singles played on Sunday the 28th proved to be the USA\u2019s strong suit, leading to them dominating the day in terms of points scored. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Americans managed to secure a dominating 8.5 points on the Sunday compared to the 3.5 points scored by the Europeans. This point total secured by the Americans is historic: it tied for the most points won in a single session since 1979. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But though\u00a0their performance was\u00a0incredible, the\u00a0Americans\u00a0could not\u00a0recover from\u00a0the setback they suffered on the first two days, and\u00a0the\u00a0lead secured by Europe was\u00a0enough to cushion the blow\u00a0from Sunday.\u00a0Ultimately,\u00a0this\u00a0resulted in a\u00a0European\u00a0win\u00a0of 15\u00a0to 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Moments That Defined the Event<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In more ways than one, this was a historic Ryder Cup for both sides. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Europe managed to secure their first away win since 2012, leading to the first American defeat on US soil since the infamous \u2018Miracle at Medinah\u2019<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 11.5 to 4.5 European lead going into day 3 is record-breaking as well: this is the biggest lead in European history. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It makes sense then that only a record-breaking lead can withstand a record-tying comeback attempt. The USA\u2019s 8.5 points won on Sunday is tied with a record for the most points won in a single session, set in 1979. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shane Lowry\u2019s putt on the 18th<\/sup> hole against Russell Henley was vital as well, securing the essential half-point needed to give Europe 14 points needed to bring back the Ryder Cup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, it was Tyrrell Hatton\u2019s half-point scored against Collin Morikawa that ended the American comeback dream and locked in a European victory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However,\u00a0we cannot discuss the Ryder Cup\u00a02025 without\u00a0mentioning the\u00a0crowd.\u00a0Highly passionate,\u00a0the\u00a0American crowd found themselves\u00a0in\u00a0some\u00a0controversy.\u00a0They\u00a0were\u00a0criticised\u00a0for\u00a0shouting\u00a0personal insults\u00a0aimed\u00a0at players and\u00a0their\u00a0family members, as well as\u00a0chants\u00a0and\u00a0yells\u00a0during\u00a0backswings and\u00a0putts which caused\u00a0pauses\u00a0in play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
