Located thirty minutes from Barcelona and its international airport, El Prat, the Barcelona Golf Resort is also the gateway to the famous Penedes wine region, home, not only to well known brands such as Torres and the cava\u2019s of Freixenet but also to a vast array of smaller boutique wineries that are there to be visited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recently refurbished 4 star Hotel Barcelona Golf has been taken over by Double Tree by Hilton and overlooks the 18th green of the Club de Golf Barcelona. Its 150 rooms have been tastefully decorated to the highest standards with soft tones and quality furnishings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The Barcelona Golf Club with its clubhouse just a stroll across the car park is a well established 18 hole course designed by Jos\u00e9 Maria Olaz\u00e1bal which has hosted the Ladies European Tour. There is also an additional 9 hole Executive course which is well worth a round if one has a couple of hours to spare.
Over the past year or so the Club de Golf Barcelona has also been undergoing major improvements to both course and clubhouse, not to mention the superb driving range and practice facilities, this together with the Double Tree by Hilton Barcelona Golf Hotel has formed what is now a superb golf resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course is a delight to play with some interesting holes and spectacular views, a buggy is probably advisable for most players and these are allowed on the fairways.
The Barcelona Golf Hotel has a newly refurbished Spa & Wellness Centre offering various treatments and a lovely outdoor pool and gardens. The hotels \u2018Singular\u2019 restaurant specialising in local cuisine has a daily lunchtime menu as well as a la carte and offers gorgeous views over the 18th green. There is also a bar serving golfers snack type meals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hotels restaurant is also complimented by the newly opened and inviting \u2018Oak Restaurant\u2019 which is situated in the clubhouse and offers spectacular views of the Montserrat mountain. The restaurant, run by Laura Diaz is receiving rave reviews for its gastronomic delights which include signature dishes, a daily midday menu and of course some great tapas amongst other things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Barcelona Golf Resort is the ideal base for a great number of activities and we, at Barcelona Golf Travel would recommend hiring a car and exploring the surrounding wineries and Cavas for example but we can also organise transfers for groups and corporate clients.
A day out to the beautiful coastal town of Sitges is highly recommended, the journey to get there being flanked by the sprawling vineyards of Penedes.
The nearby Montserrat is well worth the visit, a spectacularly beautiful mountain with multiple peaks, unusual rock formations and its Benedictine monastery. Drive up or take a funicular, the views from the top are amazing and a stroll around its peaks will invigorate you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
