Ian Denham is the Founder of Barcelona Golf Travel and a highly respected figure in inbound golf tourism, with over two decades of experience shaping the company into one of Spain’s leading specialist golf travel agencies.
Originally from Prestatyn in North Wales, Ian moved to Barcelona in 1994 after a career as a Merchant Navy Officer. His background instilled a strong sense of leadership, precision, and international outlook, which later became the foundation for Barcelona Golf Travel when he founded the company in 2002.
Under Ian’s leadership, the business grew to serve a broad range of clients, from individual golfers and small groups to large international organisations. His work includes delivering golf travel programmes for corporate clients such as SKY, Adobe, Microsoft, Toyota, and the United Nations, as well as industry-wide initiatives including the Catalonia International Golf Festival (2013 & 2014).
Barcelona Golf Travel received international recognition during Ian’s tenure, winning Best Incoming Golf Agency in Spain at the World Golf Awards on five occasions between 2015 and 2024. These awards reflect the company’s long-standing commitment to service quality, reliability, and destination expertise.
Following the successful transition of ownership to Daniel Pérez, Ian has stepped away from the business, leaving behind a strong legacy and a company built on trusted relationships within the global golf industry.
